Florida governor had declared WWE an “Essential Business”

World Wrestling Entertainment’s future plans may be in jeopardy after an anonymous WWE employee called for Orange County higher-ups to shut down the Performance Center tapings.

During a Board of County Commissioners meeting, a public comment was submitted by someone called “John” in regards to WWE. He claims that they’re being “forced to work” TV tapings despite stay at home orders and will be fired if he brings up his concerns to his higher-ups.

“John” went on to say that despite sanitary precautions, they cannot maintain social distancing at the tapings, and they have to touch other people. They asked the government to shut down the tapings to ensure everyone can follow social distancing.

WrestleVotes have spoken to a direct source, who has stated that any allegations of employees being forced work are inaccurate.

Last week, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared WWE an “essential business”, meaning that live tapings could resume. However, WWE changed those plans announcing that several shows will be taped.
