The road to Money in the Bank is nearly over, as the final participants for the Money In The Bank ladder matches are announced and storylines get tenser for the blue brand.
1. The Blue Side Of The Women’s Money in The Bank Has Been Announced
Following Alexa’s announcement on Raw that Natalya, Dana Brooke, Naomi and herself would be competing, everyone was wondering who would be representing the blue brand. Following SmackDown Live we now have a complete line-up with Bayley, Mandy Rose, Ember Moon and Carmella now added.
Smackdown could be in luck with another victory for the brand. Carmella won the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank, and with eyes on Bayley and Ember Moon to become future SmackDown Live Women’s champions, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the blue brand take home the victory.
2. The Men’s Money in The Bank is Looking Finn-tastic
This year’s men’s Money in the Bank was looking good after Raw, as Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin were all announced for the men’s match. Following the Shake-up, there’s quite the talent on Tuesday nights, so it was intriguing to see who would be selected.
It turned out that current Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor would be one of the participants, as well as Ali, Andrade and Randy Orton. It looks to be an intriguing match-up with some of WWE’s up and coming talent selected for the match.
3. The Hardy Boyz Vacate the Tag Team Championships
Following the announcement that Jeff Hardy was injured, it was speculated that the brothers might have to vacate their titles. It was announced on SmackDown Live that the brothers would vacate the championships, leading to speculation that there might be a tournament in the future.
It’s almost impossible to predict who will be going after the championship gold in the future. It’s such a shame that the Usos were sent to Raw during the Shake-up because they can’t claim back their gold. However, it does mean that there is place for a different tag team to have their time to shine on the blue brand.
4. Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens Kickstart Their Feud
After the brutal attack from Kofi’s “ally” last week, it wasn’t too hard to guess who he would be facing at the Money In The Bank PPV event. Kevin Owens was the perfect baby face and partner for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, but as many predicted, something wasn’t quite right.
Now their feud has been taken up a notch they will face off at Money In The Bank. It’s not just Kingston that has been attacked, it’s also his partner, Woods. The match-up isn’t just for Kingston to prove himself as a worthy Champion but to show Kevin Owens that he’s the man to beat on Tuesdays.
Will Kofi be able to keep the momentum of being the champion or will he lose at his first hurdle?
5. Shane McMahon is feuding with The Miz… and Roman Reigns?
As you might have noticed on Raw, it was announced that Shane McMahon will face The Miz in a steel cage match. However, he has the pleasure to be able to appear on whatever brand he wants to and his feud with Roman Reigns is still ongoing: it is Elias and Shane against Reigns at the moment. It will be interesting to see if Shane is involved with Elias’ and Reigns match at Money In The Bank, when he’s already got his match to worry about against The Miz.
It makes sense for Elias as he is working with two veterans, but it’s also confusing because Shane is a part of two separate stories that don’t interlink. Confusing, but also very good for us and the WWE Universe because Shane is an amazing talent.
