After a long but impressive WrestleMania 35, and a good Raw to follow-up the PPV. SmackDown had a lot to follow, but what were the five things we learnt from the show?

    1. The Hardy Boyz Still Got It

Following The Usos’ successful title defence at WrestleMania 35 against Aleister Black and Ricochet; Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura and The Bar they deserved a rest. However, as it always happens in WWE there is no rest for a champion. It was announced that the Usos would defend their gold against Matt and Jeff Hardy that very night. For the first time it saw brothers vs. brothers in what was an excellent match-up and The Hardy Boys WON!

I am a big fan of the Usos and have followed them their whole WWE career but it was a worthy victory for The Hardy Boys. Even after their long WWE career they still have it.

I would love to see this carry on as a storyline – they are both talented tag teams with previous Championship history. Perhaps a ladder match between the two tag teams?

    2. Lacey Evans Is Not To Be Forgotten About

After interrupting ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch on Monday’s Raw, and having a brawl you would think that would be it. Well, you thought wrong. Becky Lynch has both Women’s Championships and Lacey Evans is a free agent. This means that both women can appear on either roster whenever they feel like it.

It makes for a genius storyline – but does having one champion holding two Women’s championships mean we can only have one storyline going on?

Becky needs to drop one of the titles soon so we can have her face-off against Lacey Evans for one of the titles. The storyline would be good, but with the amount of women now at the standard to fight for the championship they need to decide what they want to do.

They have Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Ember Moon, Asuka and the return of Alexa Bliss on Raw – they need to decide what they are doing with the champion.

    3. The IIconics Really Deserved It

Days after their victory at WrestleMania 35, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce put their gold on the line against local competitors the Brooklyn Belles. Prior to the match, they mocked how some championship holders in the past talked about how they are defending champions. This then allowed for the duo to put their championship on the line in what was a good storyline match.

However, the question remains will they be rivals against Sasha Banks and Bayley? They are still owed a rematch but could this be a one-off match? The women have proven they can hold strong and powerful single rivalries, it’s now time to see if they can have a good tag team feud.

With Paige bringing her own tag team next week, who could it be? It’s certainly an exciting time in the women’s division.

    4. Kofi As WWE Champion Deserves Better

After winning numerous titles in the WWE, Kofi Kingston was just missing a run as the WWE Champion at some point in his career. However, he was never given the opportunity until this year and he won the WWE Title after defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

However, it looks like The New Day will be rivalling against The Bar and Drew McIntyre. First of all, why has WWE put Kofi in a joint feud? That’s the main question. He has the WWE Championhip he should be having his own feud but instead at the moment he is in a rivalry alongside his tag team partners.

If it was just Drew McIntyre against Kofi Kingston, I would be there for that match but for some reason they have placed it as a three against three.

Although, I love The New Day as a trio, it’s now time to put Kofi on his own. He was a successful wrestler on his own for a while so I don’t see why they don’t put him on his own and see if it works – I think it would.

    5. The WWE Superstar Shake-up is Needed

You can always tell when you realise when the wrestlers are having the same feuds, promos and face-offs. It’s that time of year where there needs to be new match-ups.

It’ll be interesting to see where Becky Lynch will be placed. Will she be drafted to Raw, what will that mean regarding the SmackDown Women’s Championship? Could be a Kane moment? When he was drafted from ECW to Raw and he was the ECW Champion, it just didn’t work.

Could Daniel Bryan be drafted to Raw, so that Kofi can focus on a new feud altogether? Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn appeared on SmackDown, when they are exclusive to the Raw brand – there certainly needs to be some certainty of who’s on which brand. I have high expectations of the Superstar Shake-up and what it will mean.
