A pro wrestling show featuring the industry’s best LGBTQ+ talent will be coming to Liverpool on Eurovision weekend.
Effy’s Big Gay Brunch UK, headlined by US wrestling star Effy and promoted by Merseyside company TNT Extreme Wrestling, will take place on Friday May 12th, live from the Hangar34 music venue.
Intended as a celebration of both professional wrestling and LGBTQ+ talent, Big Gay Brunch UK will feature matches pitting several gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and queer talents against each other.
Effy and tag team partner Allie Katch, known for their appearances in US companies such as Game Changer Wrestling, are set to appear.
British wrestling stalwart Kendo Nagasaki will also make an appearance, as will US heavyweight Parrow who will be holding an open challenge.
The event is set to take place the night before Eurovision, adding to the already vibrant schedule of LGBTQ+ events in Liverpool that weekend.
Jay Apter, owner of TNT, said, “We at TNT cannot wait to bring this event to the UK. Not only has Effy’s Big Gay Brunch been a huge success across the United States, but giving a platform to under-represented talent who deserve it is what we are all about.”
Effy, creator of Big Gay Brunch added, “EFFY’s Big Gay Brunch has become a staple of a growing LGBTQ+ wrestling scene in the United States and has brought new fans to our world who may not have been safe or accepted at wrestling shows before.”
“Now, to be able to bring the event to Liverpool with the help of TNT Extreme, we get the chance to showcase a whole new scene of BritWres that features a diverse cast of hardworking up and comers as well as staples of the scene including legends like Kendo Nagasaki.”
“The wrestling scene in the UK has gone through serious and necessary changes and I hope this event can have the same boost on the wrestling business here as it has in the US for so many of us that may have not had space or opportunity to show off before.”
Tickets for the event are available now on Ringside World and start at £25.
