Merseyside-based professional wrestling organisation will be moving the majority of their show dates to Saturdays in 2023 for a big line up of double bill shows, it has been announced. TNT Extreme Wrestling formerly ran shows on Thursdays and Sundays.

The wrestling company, known for cutting-edge deathmatch shows such as DOA as well as the family-friendly brand IGNition, announced its move to Saturdays. Both IGNition and Extreme shows will happen on the same day, which will come as great news to fans looking for more wrestling to enjoy.

IGNition shows will take place in the afternoon followed by a break, and then the Extreme show in the evening.

“We can’t wait to start promoting our unique brand of entertainment at the weekend,” said owner Jay Apter. “We know that things have gotten harder after the pandemic, so we realised that making our shows more accessible meaning that more people can enjoy them was a no-brainer.”

This will mean that some of TNT’s most well-known shows, such as Summer Explosion and Cold Day in Hell, will fall on Saturdays. The only exceptions are Effy’s Big Gay Brunch and Thrill Kill, the company’s Birmingham debut, which will fall both on a Friday.

Extreme shows are known for being blood-soaked and featuring talents such as Dan Moloney, Alexxis Falcon, Lizzy Evo, Charles Crowley, Man Like Dereiss, and many more. IGNition has platformed future stars such as RPD, Tate Mayfairs, Chase Alexander, Soner Dursun, and Tu Byt. These differ drastically from the Extreme shows as these feature less mature themes and more content generally suitable for children.

“We’re hugely excited by this. Not only will running on Saturdays be big news for our fans, but running two shows in the same day will hopefully be a much more attractive option for people travelling in from further away.” Jay Apter stated.

The first double-header takes place on Saturday January 14th with IGNition Rumble in the afternoon followed by Merseyside Massacre in the evening.

IGNition Rumble will see new champion RPD defend his newly-won championship for the first time, whereas NWA and TNT Tag Team Champions La Rebelión will grace Liverpool for Merseyside Massacre.

Tickets for both shows are on sale now via Skiddle and Ringside World.

TNT Extreme Wrestling started life in 2015 and was created by Jay Apter. The company started life by promoting professional wrestling shows to grown-up fans and has since expanded to family-friendly shows and international pay-per-views.
