During an impromptu Twitter interview with TWM, former Impact Wrestling star Velvet Sky told how former TNA owner Dixie Carter “ruined it for us all”.
The 39-year-old Connecticut native said: “Things really were the best from about 2007 to 2011 in my opinion. Everything after that went downhill. All because one person ruined it for us all. We had a stacked roster and were on the up and up and then crashed because of selfishness and poor business decisions. These are facts, not just my perspective.”
Velvet, who left the company in 2016, thus retiring from in-ring competition altogether, was discussing an Instagram post in which she posted a photo of herself and WWE star MVP look perplexed during an apparent roster meeting. In the caption, she said: “Came across this pic of MVP and I when we were forced to listen to Dixie Carter spit her bullshit. Our faces say it all.”
Velvet also opened up about how her and Angelina Love (known then as the ultra popular Beautiful People faction) were forced to change their entrance by TNA executive John Gaburick.
She explained: “I have no regrets as I accomplished everything I set out to do in TNA. But if had to think of one thing it would be for Angelina and I to continue to do our ring entrance how we had done from the beginning despite Gaburick taking it away from us. He didn’t create us so he took it away.”
She also confirmed that her and Angelina would “not mind” doing something together as TBP in the future, possibly with Billy Gunn, but did not mention any of the other former group members.
