As I am a Leeds fan I have to give some attention to two players who have stood out but haven’t had any special attention paid to them in Jack Harrison & Raphinha. This is both of their first seasons in the Premier League and both are adapting very well. Please look below for Jack’s profile.

As you can see there are a lot of numbers in the 90th percentile, some in the 80th, but some of his are lower than the median for dribbling & dribble success. Jack can work on his dribbling but his shot creation, progression & creation are all very good.

Moving on, below is Rafinha’s profile.

Once again we have some strong numbers, with a couple in the 90’s with Progressive passes being very high. Raphinha like Jack needs to work on his dribbling choices, in addition his shot creation needs some improvement but overall some strong numbers for a player still learning Bielsa’s systems.

    Star Winger of the Future

We said we would look at young players and I’ve decided to pick just one out as he is the main player with impressive stats,  so let’s have a look over Manchester City’s starlet in Phil Foden, Foden has been trying to break into Man City’s first team for a couple of seasons now and his patience has been rewarded with 15 starts so far this season and he is looks very good, especially at only 20 years old. He has so far 3 goals & 2 assists in the league  for the season but contributes more than just goal contributions as you can see below.

There are many positives here for Foden, including creating a lot of shots, progressive passes, final 3rd passes & assists p90. There are some area’s he can improve on but these are very positive numbers for a player so early in his career and the blue side of Manchester will be loving the way he is progressing.

    Summary

In closing, as you can see there are a number of strong players in the Premier League this season, some of them are strong at taking on their man but are a bit lost when they have done so. Some don’t take on that many people but know when is the key moment to do so.

Attacking is evolving all the time in the beautiful game and so is the data behind it. I will be back with some more looks into different areas of the pitch where creation occurs in the central area’s and see which players stand out when it comes to it.

Also, apologies if I didn’t give much time to a player you liked and if you would like any profiles putting together feel free to get in touch with me.
