Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Another entry on my list that refers to the series in question rather than just one game in particular. The first title launched on the N64 back in 1998 and it was one of the first games to make use of the Expansion Pak which doubled the amount of ram available for the console and allowed it to push itself a little bit further in terms of resolution and more detailed graphics.
If I’m totally honest, even without this add-on the game would still be considered a classic. It was an arcade action flight series that let you relive some classic dog fights and moments from Star Wars movies history.
Across the four titles (two on N64 and two on GameCube), there were a huge number of vehicles to choose from and the only issue it had was a lack of multiplayer.
I recently tried one of the GameCube games again and the graphics hold up well, which shows how much it was pushing that system back in the day.
This could be a quick remaster. Add 4K resolution and a full online multiplayer and it would sell by the bucketload. Come on EA take our money, you know you want to. The recent Squadrons game doesn’t count unless they add a 3rd person view……
