On April 26, 2021, DreamHack | ESL Gaming announced that their popular tournament series, DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite, will be returning. Cash Cup Extra Presented by DreamHack was also announced. Both Fortnite programs will amount to a prize pool of more than USD $900,000.
Fortnite’s Competitive Calendar:
Each season- Spring, Summer, Fall
DreamHack Open- Prize pool of USD $200k each.
DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite:
DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite will start in May with each duos tournaments to be aired live on Twitch. There will be no signup required. Dates will be revealed soon.
In 2021, there will be a total of 18 events with prize pools estimated up to $17k USD per event. This will be the total of the events for spring, summer, fall, and six events.
Fortnite has included invitational events where top players from the European and North American East Trios Cash Cups can progress to the Cash Cup Extra Presented by DreamHack tournaments. The third edition will kick off on May 12. Cash Cup Extra Presented by DreamHack to feature the leading performing players that week. Allowing the teams who participate in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) another opportunity.
This year’s events will maintain community-focused and will be paired with a live, online broadcast on Twitch. You can expect professional commentary and advanced level in-game observation from an expert team from DreamHack.
Fortnite players will be able to join the DreamHack Open Featuring Fortnite on the EU and NA East and West servers. The competition is open for all. However, the Cash Cup Extra requires players to participate in the Fortnite Trios Cash Cup to earn an invite. Additional specifics will be revealed at a later time.
