Get To Know The Writers is a new series brought to you by TWM, in the third instalment we meet our WWE & NXT expert Paige Brearley.
Who Is Paige Brearley?
Hey ya’ll, I’m Paige from Chicago. I’m 28, well 29 years old by the time you read this. I enjoy watching hockey and baseball outside of wrestling. My favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls, it’s my comfort show.
When did you get into wrestling?
I started watching wrestling at a really young age because my dad watched it. To this day I still watch PPVs and such with my dad.
What is it like being a Woman who works in wrestling media?
Honestly, its not that easy. I think women in wrestling media are overlooked and under appreciated.
What is your opinion on the progress female wrestlers have made in the industry?
I’m enjoying seeing the women get to show off their talents more. It has been long overdue to see them in the main event and get that spotlight. Truly it’s a breath of fresh air to see the women go out there night after night and just kill it.
Top 5 wrestlers of all time:
Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Macho Man, and Pete Dunne. Also an honorable mention to Johnny Gargano cause I love his work.
When it comes to women’s wrestling: Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Candice LeRae, and Becky Lynch.
Top 5 Movies you would recommend?
50 First Dates, Miracle, Fast and Furious series, Bend it like Beckham & Beauty and the Beast (animated version)
Top 5 songs that have got you through Lockdown?
I’ve really just been re-listening to songs and albums from the 90s and 2000s. Listening to songs I grew up with has been oddly calming to me. So lots of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and Hilary Duff. Then add in Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Mac Miller albums.
