He was WWE’s longest serving employee

TWM is saddened to report that legendary ring announcer Howard Finkel has passed away aged 69 years old.

Finkel was infamous as WWE’s ring announcer from 1977 until 2000, where he took a lighter schedule. He appeared sporadically for WWE until 2006, where he made guest appearances, introducting each years Hall of Fame inductees at WrestleMania.

He was inducted himself into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, and made rare appearances there after, infamously introducing CM Punk at Survivor Series 2015, ahead of his WWE Championship victory over Alberto Del Rio.

The last time we heard ‘The Fink’ was on the January 22nd, 2018 edition of Monday Night RAW, where he introduced The Undertaker via a pre-recorded ring announcement. He has been working in a backstage role for WWE throughout this time, meaning he worked for World Wrestling Entertainment for an astonishing fourty-three years.

Everyone at TWM offer their condolences to the friends, family and co-workers of Howard Finkel at this time.
