NFL have the SuperBowl, WWE has WrestleMania and Impact Wrestling have Bound For Glory. On October 24th, 2020, Impact Wrestling presented the sixteenth annual Bound For Glory event. With all four titles on the line and a pretty big announcement made during the show, these are the five must-see moments from Bound For Glory, in this writer’s humble opinion.

Rhino wins the call your shot gauntlet, not only earning himself a future title shot of his choosing but also earning heath a contract with Impact

With a few surprises and a lot on the line for both Rhino and Heath, the Call Your Shot Gauntlet came down to Rhino and Sami Callihan. After a very close call, Rhino dropped Callihan with a Gore to win the match and, not only earn a title shot of his choosing, but he also earned Heath his contract with Impact Wrestling. The match also saw some big surprise entrants including Shawn Daivari, who was known as Sheik Abdul Bashir in TNA, Swoggle and former TNA World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Champion James Storm.

THE NORTH REGAIN THE IMPACT WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES

With Josh Alexander taking out Alex Shelley before the match could officially begin, so Impact pretty much told us there’d be new champions. The question was who was going to win the tag team titles. With a belt shot from Page to Anderson, The North regained the Tag Team titles. The four-way match was incredible and one of my favourite of the entire night. A great title match.

DEONNA PURRAZZO ISSUES OPEN CHALLENGE FOR THE KNOCKOUTS TITLE AFTER KYLIE RAE NO-SHOW; SU YUNG RETURNS AND WINS THE TITLE

Originally scheduled to be Deonna Purrazzo defending the Knockouts title against Kylie Rae, a no-show from the challenger convinced Deonna to instead issue an open challenge for the Knockouts title, which was answered by Su Yung. Although Deonna put up a good fight, Su Yung picked up the victory, regaining the Knockouts title, uncrowning Deonna as champion in the process. A great match, especially at short notice, and one people should definitely check out.

THE KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE RETURNING

Immediately following the Knockouts title match, the commentary team made a big announcement for the upcoming January show Hard To Kill. They revealed that the Knockouts Tag Team Championships would be returning. The titles haven’t been active in almost eight years and I can only imagine how they’re going to crown the new champions.

RICH SWANN WINS THE IMPACT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Bound For Glory ended with a great moment, as Rich Swann finally overcame Eric Young to win the Impact World Championship. After a few months of a very personal rivalry with the former champion, Swann finally won the Impact World title, with the entire roster coming out and celebrating his victory with him.

Bound For Glory 2020 was a great show, with a lot of great moments. The above moments were my favourite of the night and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next few months in Impact Wrestling.
