Co-founder of promotion reveals he will be departing after Chapter 100.
One-half of the men that created one of Europe’s biggest wrestling promotions Jim Smallman has announced he will be leaving PROGRESS Wrestling.
In a short video posted to his twitter, Smallman announced that Chapter 100 on December 30th will be his last with the company. He will not only be departing as ring announcer but as a part of the promotion altogether.
In his video, he said that he will be leaving the company to Jon Briley and Glen Joseph and will return, but “in the best possible position, as a fan”.
Smallman has been a part of PROGRESS since it’s inception as both ring announcer, a commentator for a time under the pseudonym “Jimmy Barnett” and as head booker.
There is no word yet on who will be replacing Jim as ring announcer.
