WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, will today be indicted with one count of third-degree murder and charged with involuntary manslaughter. The case, filed in 1983, after the death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, has been ongoing for 32 years.
The grand jury came to the decision to indict Snuka due to his changing stories offered back when the incident took place, which he then contradicted as he recounted the events in his book “Superfly.”
Snuka had also been arrested several times for assaulting both Argentino and his ex-wife
He has told several accounts of the events that took place, including one account in which he stated he had struck her when in another account he stated she had slipped and fallen causing her to hit her head whilst using the bathroom on a highway.
WWE has given the following statement “WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately, this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”
He is seen as a pioneer of the high-flying style of wrestling and was entered into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
His wife Carole stated last month that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, which had led to him having parts of his stomach removed, as well as his lymph nodes and any current cancerous tumors.
He will face trial at 11 am EST
