There have been very few wrestlers who have gained so much attention in such a short amount of time, but Kris Statlander is one of them.

She has taken the wrestling world by storm over the past several months, entertaining and wowing fans wherever she goes.

Let’s take a look into the career of the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien, and why she is someone you should keep an eye on for the foreseeable future!

The Andromeda Galaxy native (or West Islip, New York, depending on who you ask) began training at the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy, run by Pat Buck and WWE superstar Curt Hawkins. She was the very first female graduate of the academy, and made her wrestling debut on April 29, 2017 against Karen Q at Victory Pro Wrestling Upper Limits 2017. Less than two months later, she again challenged Q for the VPW Women’s Title in a No DQ match and emerged victorious.

For the remainder of the year, she would wrestle for various promotions such as Create A Pro Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, WrestlePro, Warriors of Wrestling, New York Wrestling Connection, and Five Borough Wrestling. Some of her opponents included Sienna/Allysin Kay, Rosemary, Willow Nightingale, Maria Manic, and Max Caster.

In 2018, Statlander began to branch out to more promotions, including Women Superstars Uncensored, Women’s Wrestling Revolution, United Pro Wrestling Association, America’s Most Liked Wrestling, Limitless Wrestling, World Wide Wrestling Alliance, Beyond Wrestling, and Queens of Combat.

This also brought a new crop of challengers, such as Penelope Ford, Tenille Dashwood, Ashley Vox, Terra Callaway, Allie, Kiera Hogan, Rachael Ellering, Kylie Rae, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

Then, on April 9, 2019, she made her WWE debut in Brooklyn, New York on an episode of SmackDown Live. Her and Karissa Rivera—collectively referred to as The Brooklyn Belles—teamed up to take on the IIconics in a Women’s Tag Team Championship match, which they lost.

The exposure helped her gain even more momentum, earning her matches in promotions like Ring of Honor, Shimmer, and AAW. Her opponents became even more high-profile, as she took on the likes of Mercedes Martinez, Kimber Lee, Faye Jackson, Lisa Marie Varon, Jordynne Grace, David Starr, Chris Dickinson, Veda Scott, Saraya Knight, Shotzi Blackheart, Shazza McKenzie, Scarlett Bordeaux, Priscilla Kelly, Joey Janela, Jessicka Havok, Brian Cage, Harlow O’Hara, and Sami Callihan.

It wasn’t long before she got the attention of one of the hottest promotions in the business, All Elite Wrestling. She made her debut with them on the November 19th episode of AEW Dark, teaming with Big Swole in a losing effort against Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. and the AEW Women’s Champion, Riho.

They must have liked what they saw, because Statlander was brought back the following week to make her televised debut on AEW Dynamite. She teamed with Hikaru Shida in another losing effort, this time to Bea Priestley and Emi Sakura.

She returned the following month and earned her first win in AEW on the December 4th episode of Dynamite, defeating Shida. Two weeks later, she faced Priestley in a singles match on the December 17th episode of AEW Dark and picked up her second win.

But perhaps her biggest win to date came the following night, where she beat Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. to become the number one contender to Riho’s AEW Women’s Championship. The two clashed last week, but Statlander was unable to capture the title thanks to interference from The Nightmare Collective (Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Mel, and Luther).

Last night on Dynamite, however, she was able to get some retribution, as her and Shida defeated Rhodes and Mel.

If her size and agility inside the ring doesn’t immediately catch your eye, her otherworldly—pun intended—persona just might. Giving an extraterrestrial character to anyone else might end up failing miserably, but she makes it work so well.

I’ve been pretty impressed with what I’ve seen of her so far, and I intend on going back and watching more of her matches online to see what I’ve missed out on. Hopefully you all will do the same!

To see how quickly she has risen to the top in AEW shows just how much faith they have in her and how talented she truly is. As time goes on, she will certainly continue to add to her already impressive career.

This is only the beginning for Statlander; she has so much left to accomplish in the world of professional wrestling. The sky (or space!) is the limit for her, and I’m personally looking forward to see what she does next!
