Mae Young Classic participant set to report to the Performance Centre next month
Dave Meltzer has confirmed that wrestling veteran Mercedes Martinez has signed with WWE.
SoCalUncensored reported the news yesterday evening and even though Melzter has confirmed this, there is still no announcement from WWE or Martinez herself.
Martinez has been an independent women’s wrestling mainstay for nearly 20 years, appearing in Women’s Superstars Uncensored, World Xtreme Wrestling, Shine, and Shimmer – winning numerous championships.
She was also a part of the Women’s Casino Battle Royal at All Out last August and had competed in a match on AEW Dark back in November. She has also competed for WWE in both Mae Young Classic tournaments and appeared on NXT television in the past, most notably losing a match to Ember Moon on the November 15th 2017 edition of the show.
