At the special Wrestle Kingdom 15 press conference in Tokyo on December 23, New Japan Pro-Wrestling Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi was able to once again announce NJPW’s continued flawless safety record in staging live events, with no cases of COVID-19 infection arising from any live event since activity resumed on June 15 and fans were first readmitted on July 11.
Naoki Sugabayashi:
‘Tonight’s card in Korakuen Hall will mark the final event for NJPW in 2020. Since fans were readmitted to venues on July 11, we have conducted 78 events in Japan to total crowds of over 100,000. Reported cases of COVID-19 arising from these events have remained at zero. I would once again like to express the sincerest gratitude to our fans for continuing to adhere to Coronavirus guidelines.
As ever, NJPW will start activity in 2021 with our events in the Tokyo Dome. Our staff and wrestlers will continue to work to the utmost of our abilities in order to provide a safe environment for fans to enjoy New Japan Pro-Wrestling’
