WWE have announced the first ever NXT Download Festival tour with added UK & Ireland dates
WWE NXT is returning to the UK and Ireland this summer starting with NXT Download Festival 2016.
The developmental division will be at Donnington Park in Leicestershire from June 10 to 12 for all three dates of the festival which is one of the UK’s biggest gatherings of rock and heavy metal music fans.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion and COO of WWE Triple H has revealed the brand will then stop off at locations including Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Plymouth.
“We will go through the UK after that (download festival) – Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Plymouth.”
Triple H confirmed NXT would be returning to the UK, due to an extremely successful first international tour in December, on a conference call with British publication The Mirror this evening. The dates and venues after Download are yet to be confirmed, but may also include a show in London.
This second tour is set to feature the likes of current NXT Champion Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe, the NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, Japanese sensation Shinsuke Nakamura, Apollo Crews, and Austin Aries.
