WWE are to name both Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors, according to Sports Illustrated.
The former WCW and ECW owners will report directly to Vince McMahon himself, however there are no plans for this to become a television storyline as of yet.
Paul Heyman, the former ECW owner and formerly backstage member in the WWE, will become the lead Executive Director of Monday Night RAW. Heyman was the mind behind ECW during most of the 90’s until 2001 and has been backstage for a long time helping many of the WWE roster, most recently seen on the Ronda Rousey 365 Documentary.
Former WCW president Bischoff will have the same position on Smackdown Live. This is a very valuable addition for the WWE, as Bischoff will be in direct contact with FOX Television executives when that deal begins in October. Bischoff is also serving as a producer for the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic, where Chris Hemsworth is set to play Hogan.
This is yet another move in the right direction and it remains to be seen whether this is a direct reaction to the declining ratings on both shows and declining attendance.
