Who is going to challenge the Aussie duo for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles?

After their surprising (and if you’re a follower of TWM on social media, massively welcome) title win on the grandest stage of them all, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are going to have their work cut out. Holding the straps that are allowed to be defended across all of WWE surely puts a target on their backs. So who is going to step up and attempt to take the belts away from them? Let’s have a think, shall we…

    Team FlyKicks

Chalk this one up to mere wishful thinking rather than any hard evidence, but if Dakota Kai feels like magically guaranteeing her ACL is fine and teaming up with a healthy Tegan Nox then… BRING IT ON, PLEASE. On the other hand there is an Io Shirai who’s not up to much right now…

    Fire & Desire

Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville may well be able to stake a claim for a title opportunity, but given that they teamed with the IIconics in an 8-woman tag match it seems unlikely. Still, Mandy and Sonya tend not to get on with people that well and it feels like they’re due a further tag team nudge, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to have them take out Billie and Peyton at some point in an attempt to get their hands on the tag team belts.

    The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Now, bare with me. First of all, we don’t even know if this team is a team right now. A couple of weeks removed from Wrestlemania had Bayley teaming up with Ember Moon and the Pirate Empresses(?) with Sasha Banks not even mentioned. Something in me thinks there are plans afoot with Sasha, but if I’m wrong and she drops back to where she was then expect The Hugger and The Boss to come calling for a rematch. However if we end up with a feuding Bayley and Sasha frenemies situation again then well, I’m putting my Bayley Buddies back in their box.

    Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir

I KNOW. I know. But we’d all be annoyed if I didn’t mention them and then, come Summerslam, we’ve got some sort of ex-MMA invasion happening and I look like an idiot. The Appalachian Amazon and The Supernova From Moldova (yes, really, but they’re still better than The Appalachian Experience and The Moldovan Mini-Break) may well prove to be a dominating force on NXT going forward, and if they do don’t expect them to stay out of the title spotlight for too long.

    Asuka and Kairi Sane

HEY GUYS, PAIGE HERE! And surely this is where we’re headed? They were teased a week out with Paige’s backstage segment, and they’ve got a charismatic manager behind them in the recently retired star. So will we see The Empress Of Tomorrow and The Pirate Princess go straight after the belts? Logic says that maybe Paige’s former BFFs, Fire & Desire, will be first in the firing and desiring line. Even if that’s so I’d expect the impressive Japanese duo to move on to a title opportunity faster than you can tie a reef knot.

Whoever ends up coming for the now IIconic belts, you can bet your life Billie and Peyton won’t take it laying down. Or at least if they do it’ll be whilst trying to slide out of the ring to avoid any sort of fight. Still, for now, we can rest easy knowing that the WWE Women’s Division is truly…
