Royal Rumble 2016 threw a twist on the start of the Road to WrestleMania, as for the first time ever, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was defended against 29 other superstars, forcing Roman Reigns to run the gauntlet.
The pay-per-view extravaganza also saw Kevin Owens go toe-to-toe with Dean Ambrose in an incredible Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and Kalisto butted heads with Alberto Del Rio for the WWE United States Championship.
The New Day defended their WWE Tag Team Championships against The Uso’s whilst Charlotte and Becky Lynch went one-on-one for the WWE Divas Championship.
