ALBERTO DEL RIO VS CHRISTIAN (2013)
You might think it odd to pick a match from last year’s event but in current light it’s easy to see why people might overlook this match. Alberto is considered dull and a “failed” top liner, whilst Christian is once again out injured and if remembered at all by many fans its as the man who used to be in those tag team matches. But whilst matches between Triple H & Brock Lesnar and John Cena & Daniel Bryan were talked about as classics by fans, this one kind of slipped under the radar. Yet it was an excellent match. Both men played their parts to perfection. Del Rio, the heel aggressor looking to finish off his opponent. Christian, the veteran who may not get many more chances to grasp the World Title. Two, in my opinion, unfairly maligned wrestlers showed what they could do here. I was thoroughly engrossed in this match at the time, and it remain a sterling effort on a second viewing.
