BRITISH BULLDOGS VS THE FABULOUS ROUGEAU BROTHERS (1988)
Well where better to start than the first ever SummerSlam match. The idea that the mid 1980’s WWF did not have some great in-ring wrestling is a myth that lasts to this day in some minds. But the undercards often had their moments, and this was one of them. It is towards the end of the Bulldogs WWF career as a team and Jacques Rougeau’s subsequent stint as the Mountie can be used as a crutch to beat him with (great character, not a great wrestler) and the fact this went to a non-finish time-limit draw means that people forget what a great match it was. Solid, stiff action combined with some thrilling aerial stuff, this was two teams who knew what they were doing, going out there doing it well.
