CESARO
Yet another guy who made a name for himself on the independent circuit as Claudio Castagnoli, Cesaro has made a name for himself during his time in WWE. Cesaro plied his trade for 11 years in the indies before finally getting a shot at the big time.
There are many differences and similarities between Punk and Cesaro. Unlike Punk, Cesaro was pretty much fast tracked for glory. They both spent roughly a year in developmental but while Punk was tucked away on ECW when he debuted, Cesaro was thrown almost immediately into the United States title mix.
Also their ring styles are similar despite the differences in physique. Sure Cesaro can use his strength a lot more to his advantage, but most of the time both of these men are essentially brawlers in the ring. They are both incredibly technical with their move set as well.
The obvious similarity many people would go for with Cesaro and Punk is that they were both ‘Heyman Guys’ – although Cesaro’s time on screen with Paul E. lasted a lot less than Punk’s did.
Cesaro is a superstar that is destined for stardom and he has all the skills needed to back it up.
