WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and WWE SmackDown superstar Sasha Banks won the Best WWE Moment Award at the ESPY Awards tonight for their match at this year’s WrestleMania 37 pay-per-view.
Belair and Banks’ WrestleMania match beat out Edge’s 2021 WWE Royal Rumble victory, Belair’s 2021 WWE Royal Rumble victory and Bad Bunny’s in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37.
When SmackDown returns to shows in front of a live audience next week, ESPY winner Bianca Belair will put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Carmella.
Originally, Belair was scheduled to square off against her bitter adversary Bayley in an “I Quit” Match at WWE Money in the Bank. However, after The Role Model suffered an injury while training for the matchup that will leave her out of action for approximately nine months, WWE Official Sonya Deville named the self-professed “Most Beautiful Woman in All of WWE” as the replacement challenger.
Banks has not returned to WWE just yet, but she is on the sidelines waiting for that moment. Perhaps The Boss and EST of WWE will collide once again very soon in the squared circle. It seems that the two got along fine at the ESPY Awards.
