Peyton Royce
Since The IIconics split up back in August, Peyton Royce has been placed into a de-facto makeshift tag team with Lacey Evans. Although they seem to be gelling well, Royce returning to NXT, on her own this time, would add a very interesting element to the NXT Women’s division. As she was paired up with Billie Kay during her previous stint in NXT, having her in the division on her own could even lead to what eluded her last time: an NXT Women’s title run.
Both Peyton and Billie have been top class heels since they formed their alliance back in October of 2016, with them even holding the Women’s Tag Team Championships after winning them at WrestleMania. Peyton could go back to her heel character in NXT and feud with current NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai, and even rehash old rivalries with the likes of Ember Moon. If given the opportunity, Peyton would absolutely kill as a top heel in the NXT Women’s division.
Aleister Black
With rumours of a request from Aleister to return to NXT earlier this year, there is absolutely no reason why WWE would not grant it. Outside of small rivalries here and there, Black hasn’t really done much of note, with the majority of his achievements coming from his stint in NXT, as he’s held the NXT Championship and was named the Male Competitor and Breakout Star of the Year in 2017, also co-winning the Rivalry of the Year. He even won the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Ricochet.
There are plenty of superstars currently on the NXT roster that Black just missed out on feuding with, but there are also a few superstars Black could re-ignite old feuds with, Adam Cole being one of them. A feud between Aleister and current NXT Champion Finn Balor would be incredible, as that would definitely be a huge headliner for a TakeOver event. Black could even go after the NXT North American Championship, currently held by Black’s old rival, Johnny Gargano. Black could give his career a much-needed shake-up if he were to return to Wednesday nights.
