We’re in a familiar situation yet again with the likely suspect. Apparently Punk was rude to fans during the WWE’s tour of the UK. I don’t usually do this but I’m going to give some credence to a report that appeared on pretty much all the wrestling news sites this past week.

To paraphrase just a snippet of what apparently went down. Punk was doing his usual Punk routine and not being exactly the most friendly of people to the fans. Said fans asked him for permission to take a photo and Punk supposedly shouted and called them ‘horrible’.

Let me be the first to say that I’m shocked by the behaviour of CM Punk.

Are we talking about this Punk?

    Or is it this Punk?

    This one?

    Or?

I think these videos pretty much sum up Punk as a character and person. I have always and will always know that if I ever get the chance to approach him on the street I would probably pass up on the opportunity. I know that meeting him would probably end in my thinking he is a dick and I accepted that many years ago – if anything it’s part of his charm.

I think as a fan of his we all surely must know by now that his moods go with the wind. You might meet him one day and he’ll be a really nice guy. You might meet him the next day and think he is the biggest arsehat walking the earth. That is the risk of being a fan of his; it’s like a game of Punk Roulette.

You could probably hedge your bets by not bothering him whilst he’s in the bathroom or when he’s running/walking/eating/sleeping/on the phone/off the phone/looking angry/looking sad/doing his amazing Raven impression.

Punk is Punk and that’s never going to change, no matter how much you may want it to.
