Steel Cage Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Paul Heyman
Heyman’s next match was a lot different from his first, only five months later, as he found himself locked inside of a steel cage with Brock Lesnar, who had recently won the Royal Rumble match. Before the match could even begin though, Kurt Angle began scaling the cage, while his Team Angle cohorts Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin attacked Brock from behind after getting into the ring through the door.
Haas and Benjamin teamed up on Brock, repeatedly sending him face-first into the cage wall. Haas and Benjamin then dropped Lesnar with a Double Flapjack.
An attempted superkick directed at Brock from Shelton dropped Haas as Lesnar avoided it. Brock then took Shelton down with a clothesline. Lesnar then sent Haas and Benjamin into the cage wall repeatedly. Lesnar then threw both Haas and Benjamin out of the ring through the cage door.
Lesnar then went to drag Heyman into the ring, only for Kurt Angle to attack Brock from behind. Lesnar quickly took over control, sending Angle face-first into the cage wall on the outside, possibly busting him open. Lesnar then sent Heyman into the ring, leaving him locked inside the cage, just them. As soon as the bell rung, Lesnar took Heyman down with a strike to the back.
Lesnar kicked Heyman. Brock then lifted Heyman up for the F5, all the while Kurt Angle was climbing into the cage. Angle helped Heyman escape the F5 by taking out Brock’s knee. Angle then dropped Brock with an Angle Slam. Angle dragged Heyman over Brock for a pinfall cover, but Lesnar kicked out. Angle then locked Lesnar into the Ankle Lock, while Brock held onto Heyman to prevent Paul from escaping the cage.
Brock then kicked Angle off, escaping the Ankle Lock and went after Heyman, only for Angle to attack him again. While Angle had Lesnar distracted, Heyman began climbing the cage, only for Brock to notice and prevent his escape. Lesnar then dropped Heyman with an F5, while kicking Angle backwards, getting the pinfall to pick up the victory, earning a WWE title match the following week on SmackDown.

Extreme Rules Match
Sabu vs. Paul Heyman
Fast forward three years and, after his last two matches ended in a contest, Paul Heyman steps into the ring once again, this time in WWE’s version of ECW, as Heyman, flanked by his personal security guards, prepares to do battle with “The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying” Sabu in an Extreme Rules match on an episode of ECW on Sci-Fi in the summer of 2006.
As the bell rung, Sabu flung a steel chair right at one of the guards, which provoked the other guard to tackle Sabu to the ground and begin raining down strikes on the ECW legend. The bodyguards continued to beat down Sabu, causing this match to seem more like a three-on-one handicap match rather than just a one-on-one.
As one of Heyman’s enforcers held Sabu, the other one attempted to hit him with a nightstick, only for Sabu to kick him back and escape, rolling through to escape the grasp of the other enforcer. Sabu then took the steel chair and nailed one of the enforcers in the thigh with it, and then hit the other enforcer in the head with it.
Sabu threatened to throw the steel chair at Heyman but instead of doing that, Sabu was about to nail Heyman with the Arabian Facebuster but Heyman ducked and Sabu dived to the outside, only to be caught by then ECW World Champion The Big Show. Sabu avoided whatever Show had planned, though, as he spiked The Big Show with a DDT on the floor.
As Sabu attempted to get back into the ring, he was, once again, attacked by Heyman’s enforcers, with The Big Show taking over soon after, sending Sabu back into the ring. The enforcers held Sabu as The Big Show threw a steel chair at Sabu’s head. Show continued the assault with a punch right to the face, busting Sabu wide open. Heyman then demanded that Show hold Sabu up and then hit Sabu with a flurry of slaps while taunting him.
The enforcers then began choking him on the floor before The Big Show lifted him up and dropped him again with a headbutt. Show then asked the enforcers to bring in a table, with them setting it up on the outside. Show then held onto Sabu while Heyman punched him in the face, getting Sabu’s blood on his hands.
The Big Show continued the assault, dropping Sabu with a backbreaker. Sabu grabbed Heyman by the scruff while Paul was talking trash in his face, only for Big Show to drag him off and get him back to his feet. Sabu then hit Show with a flurry of strikes, trying to work his way back into the match, only for the ECW World Champion to drop Sabu with a vicious clothesline.
The Big Show then lifted Sabu up in a Military Press Hold, but Sabu dropped off while Big Show was distracted at the appearance of Rob Van Dam at ringside. RVD took out Heyman’s enforcers on the outside. RVD then got into the ring and began brawling with The Big Show. Heyman threw Show a steel chair, only for RVD to duck Show’s swing and hit him with a Vandaminator, sending Show into a seated position in the corner.
RVD then hit The Big Show with a Vandaminator in the corner, skateboarding the steel chair into the face of the ECW World Champion. RVD then springboard to the outside, taking out Heyman’s enforcers. Heyman attempted to revive The Big Show, only for Sabu to recover and start raining down fists on Heyman.
Sabu then hit Heyman with an Arabian Facebuster on the floor. Sabu continued the attack by stomping on Heyman. RVD then placed Heyman onto the table, set-up on the outside, with Sabu planning on putting him through it, only for The Big Show to wipe Sabu out with a Spear as he flew through the air.
As RVD attempted to climb to the top turnbuckle, Hardcore Holly ran down and began attacking RVD from behind, with Heyman’s enforcers joining in. The enforcers moved Heyman off the table, with Hardcore Holly putting RVD through the table with an Alabama Slam. The Big Show then hit Sabu with a Cobra Clutch Backbreaker, quickly following it up with his Showstopper Legdrop. The Big Show then dragged Heyman over the fallen Sabu, with the referee counting the three, giving Paul Heyman the victory.
