Your eyes are not deceiving you. Shane McMahon sensationally made his return to Monday Night Raw this week after his resignation from WWE’s Board of Directors in 2009 in one of the most explosive starts to Raw in WWE history.
Shane-O-Mac’s shocking return came in the opening segment, as his father Vince McMahon was getting set to award his sister Stephanie with the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award. The pair were interrupted to the sounds of “Here Comes the Money” as the stunned Detroit crowd leapt off their seats in joy.
Shane revealed to his family that he couldn’t stand back and let his sister and her husband, Triple H, run WWE into the ground any longer. Citing ratings slumps and an injured roster he informed the pair that he retained his position of power despite stepping away from the company to pursue other business interests. Throwing in just enough of WWE’s real life situation to make the whole segment truly believable, and it was utterly wonderful.
He added he wanted his stake back, and he wanted full control of Monday Night Raw.
Vince informed Shane that he who has control of Raw has control of WWE as a whole, and said he would grant Shane his wish on one condition. He would win a match against an opponent and at a location specified by Vince McMahon himself.
That location? WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas. The opponent? The Undertaker.
McMahon wasn’t finished, as he also added in order to prevent Shane from “walking out” as he had done on the Company, the match would be contested inside Hell in a Cell.
No, that’s not an insane dirt-sheet clickbait rumour. Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 inside Hell in a Cell is official. And it came completely out of nowhere.
Another huge match for WrestleMania 32 was made official on RAW as well, as it was announced Brock Lesnar will face Dean Ambrose is a Street Fight.
The current WrestleMania 32 card is as follows:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Hell in a Cell Match
Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker (if Shane McMahon wins he gains control of WWE)
Street Fight
Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose
