Let Him In!
The Fiend was subject to a change in Brand as part of the 2020 Draft when he was sent over to RAW. During that time, The Fiend had his eyes on Alexa Bliss whom he soon took under his guidance, adding a more ‘twisted’ flavour to Alexa’s character.
This new development in The Fiend’s character was bringing eyes back onto him but he was lacking a feud that would keep him relevant and help him consistently do his Firefly Funhouse segments week after week.
That didn’t remain a problem for long as Bray targeted another prominent figure from his past: The Viper, Randy Orton.
Orton was getting fresh off his WWE Championship feud with Drew McIntyre when he was launched into this rivalry with Bray. This was done as a method to keep two of their top stars relevant and hot until they reached WrestleMania.
Bray and Orton weren’t holding back against each other during their promos.
Soon a stipulation was decided for the match between the two, after instigation from The Fiend and Alexa, it would be The Fiend vs. Randy Orton in a Firefly Inferno Match at TLC. The match had the main event spot on the show despite featuring Drew vs AJ and Roman vs Kevin Owens. That was done because of a certain reason.
The match started and as usual, Orton was using his sly tactics to gain the upper hand over The Fiend but to the Viper’s surprise, The Fiend was having none of it. He was just no-selling every bit of offense Orton could throw his way. After trying various methods and techniques to keep him down, Orton finally decided that he wasn’t going to play around anymore and burned The Fiend to a crisp.
Yep. Orton poured gasoline over his body, lit a match, and flicked said match onto the Fiend’s body. Upon seeing this, the Pyro Guy smashed all the buttons possible which caused Fire to go up everywhere in the ThunderDome. The last visual we saw at TLC was a man taking pride in setting another guy on fire as it was being broadcasted to millions of viewers.
