How Did We Get Here, again?
Fans were thankful that this feud was finally over, but we should have known better. Orton rekindled his WWE Championship pursuit and entered himself into the Royal Rumble Match. Orton had a heroic performance after spending most of the Royal Rumble match in the trainer’s room nursing his injury. He returned only towards the end to be thrown over the ring by Edge. Although Orton didn’t face any distractions in this match, he would go on to be distracted in almost each and every match by Fiend’s twisted partner, Alexa Bliss.
Following the Royal Rumble, Orton was selected as part of the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match but leading up to the event, he was regularly bothered by the resident RAW mischief-maker.
Orton had had enough of Bliss and decided to interfere in her matches as well. He went on to RKO her in a match against Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. This didn’t sit well with Little Miss Bliss and she wanted revenge.
So naturally, she did some voodoo and cloned Orton. Meanwhile, the real Orton would often puke some nasty black oil from his mouth from time to time. As we all know, no one wants to have oil coming out of their mouth and have their clone laugh at them through the telly.
So, as a solution, Orton did what any normal person in this situation would have done: He challenged Alexa Bliss to a wrestling match at Fastlane.
As fans, we were intrigued to see what happened and of Alexa doing magic in her vain attempts to kill the 14-time World Champion. Thankfully Alexa stopped after two minutes of ripping apart the ThunderDome before none other than The “Toasted” Fiend returned.
The Fiend was back stronger than ever and to show that he was strong, back after being roasted, he took an RKO. But since it was The Fiend, he got back up and connected with Sister Abigail on Orton. That was enough to keep him down as Alexa promptly placed herself on top of him as the referee counted the three.
In the following weeks, a match was set for WrestleMania between The Fiend and Randy Orton.
Will the two finally put this to bed at WrestleMania or are we set for more Spooky, Fiery antics from The Bliss Fiend connection directed at poor Randy? We will find out on Sunday when the pair meet again on the Grandest Stage of them all
