For the 2021 NFL Superbowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, it was reported that 25,000* people attended the event with 30,000* cardboard cutouts being used to fill the empty seats. For $100 each, fans were able to purchase a cutout of themselves that would count as a “virtual” seat. WrestleMania 37 will be taking place in Tampa, Florida instead of Inglewood, California.
Over to @WrestleVotes for an update on how WWE is thinking about WrestleMania and their current mindset;
On first glance at the Television whilst watching the Superbowl the stadium looked to be scarily full of fans, however according to Insider, there were 25,000 fans physically in the stadium — and the NFL added 30,000 cutouts of Fans who would have otherwise attended, this all helped to make the stadium look full and ensure that fans were spread out to keep in line with Social Distancing rules.
This is an amazing idea, and this isn’t the first time the NFL placed cutouts of adoring fans at games. The Denver Broncos featured cutouts of South Park characters during their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in September.
