Entrant #20 – Naomi
Naomi has long been called a star and definitely one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of our era. Everyone in the Wells Fargo Centre felt the glow when Naomi made her entrance into the Royal Rumble match. Without any luck in eliminating anyone, Naomi was soon tossed over the ropes. Since then, Naomi has been quite unfortunate in her wrestling career. After the Rumble, she was given no proper storylines for the remainder of 2018 and had appearances in multi-man matches such as the Money in the Bank match and the Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Tag match both of which didn’t go very successful for her. She was in a feud with Mandy Rose for a while after that but that ended when Naomi was drafted to RAW in April 2019 but there wasn’t any promise for her over there either. She had to take time off but she made her return to the 2020 Royal Rumble match where she had a strong showing. After the Rumble, she was a part of the five-woman match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36 where Bayley successfully defended her title. Naomi was then demoted to the mid-card and this sparked the #Naomideservesbetter hashtag on Twitter. Fans demanded Naomi be pushed by WWE management. Unfortunately, nothing ever developed from it. She was drafted to RAW in October 2020 but she hasn’t been seen on T.V since August of last year.

    Entrant #21 – Jacqueline
Jacqueline is an underrated legend of WWE. She was one of the first few famous female wrestlers of WWF and was over with the fans in the Attitude Era. The two-time Women’s Champion made a shocking appearance at the 2018 Royal Rumble and the fans stood up in respect for the legend that Jacqueline is. Even though she didn’t get to spend a lot of time back in the ring, the WWE Hall of Famer did get to have her one final match back and it was a treat for many fans. She currently enjoys her retired life in Texas with her family and just recently on January 6, 2021, celebrated her fifty-seventh birthday.

    Entrant #22 – Nia Jax
Jax for long has been the monster brute heel of the WWE Women’s division and that is exactly the role she took over when she entered the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble. By getting four big eliminations under her belt, many fans were beginning to think that she might actually win the match. She lasted for eighteen minutes in the match before it took five people, to get her over the top rope. After the Rumble she started a feud with the RAW Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss and the whole feud was centred around Alexa bullying Jax. Jax won the title at WrestleMania 34 from Alexa Bliss and started her reign as the strong champion. However, during her match against Rousey for the title at Money in the Bank that year, Bliss cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and won the belt back from Jax. Later in the year, she aligned with Tamina turning heel in the process but nothing much came out of that. Jax also competed in the Men’s Rumble match in 2019 but was unsuccessful. However, there were a lot of hiatuses for her during that time because of various injuries and it kept her occupied for most of her 2019. She returned in April of 2020 and went right after the RAW Women’s Championship but was unsuccessful so she formed a tag-team with Shayna Baszler. They won the tag belts and had a strong reign in which they basically bullied other wrestlers but they lost the titles to the team of Charlotte and Asuka. Jax and Baszler are set to compete for the titles again this Sunday at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

    2018-Women's-Royal-Rumble
2018 Women’s Royal Rumble | Ember Moon in her first Royal Rumble when she was NXT Women’s Champion.

    Entrant #23 – Ember Moon
Moon entered the Royal Rumble match while holding the NXT Women’s Championship. This came as a surprise to many fans because the previous night at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia she suffered an arm injury in the storyline which could be used as a kayfabe explanation as to why she didn’t do as good as an NXT Champion would have done in the Royal Rumble match. She went on to lose the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: New Orleans and thus made her main roster debut on the RAW after WrestleMania 34. Moon didn’t find any proper feud which was fitting for her strong presence on the main roster after multiple tries against the likes of Mandy Rose and Bayley. She even went on a downfall after she started losing week in and week out on RAW. Unfortunately, Moon suffered an ankle injury in 2019. Many believed that this was a career-ending injury because of its severity. However, Ember Moon recovered and returned in October 2020 to NXT to send Io Shirai a warning for her NXT Championship. She is yet to challenge for the title and is currently part of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes tag team classic in a team with Shotzi Blackheart.

    Entrant #24 – Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix was one of the fundamental characters in paving the way for future generations of female wrestlers and played a key role in almost every women’s championship programme that took place during her time. When she showed up at the Royal Rumble it was a pleasant surprise. At the time she was a colour commentator showing up on different WWE events but in 2019 she came out of retirement to form a tag-team with Natalya and even had a match at WrestleMania 35 for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Beth and Natalya had some further matches against Riott Squad but in May 2019, Beth stepped away from full-time action and started commentating for NXT. She, however, did show up in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble and made it to the final three before being eliminated by Shayna Baszler. She was even involved in the Edge and Orton feud in 2020 for a hot minute. She is currently a full-time commentator for NXT.
